Sleep

In the third trimester — from the 28th week of pregnancy onward — sleeping on the back puts pressure on the main blood vessels that deliver blood to the uterus. This pressure may decrease the oxygen supply to the fetus. It can also increase unpleasant symptoms, such as dizziness and heartburn, in you.

Stay Happy & Positive

Week 36

Mark your calendar! Starting at 36 weeks pregnant, your doctor will want to see you every week.

Add the finishing touches to your nursery.

Finish packing your hospital bag, if you haven’t already.

Plan a last pre-baby date with your BFF or closest friend group.

Week 37

Pick your pediatrician. The hospital will ask about your baby’s pediatrician upon delivery so medical records can be shared and the doctor will know to expect you. Have contact information handy in your hospital bag.

Make sure everything is squared away at work, so your parental leave is uninterrupted.

Create a “Baby Watch List” to share news of the baby’s arrival with must-know people.

Week 38

Get your house cleaned and cross one more thing off your list.

Get a low-maintenance haircut.

Finalize your childcare plan and transition timeline.

Week 39

Try to relax and get some rest before delivery.

Week 40

Make a list of helpful things for eager visitors to do after the baby comes.

Anything left for the nursery? Now’s the time to get it in place.

Get a pedicure. This is an ideal time to get a foot massage and read a magazine.

How about a nice warm bath? If your water hasn’t broken, take some time to relax in the tub. Also bath bombs are weird and awesome.
